Uncle Lyrad's Lesson of the Evening: Falling

A word of advice. If you decide that it's a good idea to fall down, please, for your own safety, tuck your chin in and, when you land, roll toward your shoulder instead of taking it fully on your back. I know what your saying: "But Uncle Lyrad, it sounds better on the mat like that!" and you're right. It does. That better sound, though, is not worth the price. Trust me, I took one today that I'm still feeling the effects from.

The best way to handle the side effects from that though is to go out drinking and see Wayne "The Train" Hancock. I'm feeling better already.

  1. Yes, but what if you're falling face first, a la Ric Flair? Do you let your shoulder take the brunt of the fall? Your wrists? Your face?

  2. If you're Ric Flair, your face takes the brunt of the blow. If you're me, you try your best to stay away from the situation.

  3. Oh dear brother. Were our moons aligned? I fell flat on my back @ my friends on Saturday night. Damn rug. Didn't even see it coming! Of course I am sure it had nothing to do with the 2 Chocolate Martini's and the glass of Red Pinoir I had just swigged down! XXOO
