More governmental support for protecting the Amazon

I wrote last month that it seemed Lula was making significant efforts to actually protect the Amazonian rain forest here in Brazil. In more good news, his promises were not just rhetoric, as his government, officially re-inaugurated at the beginning of the month, has launched a program to monitor and prevent logging in the Amazon. Doubtless it will not be 100% successful, but it's so good to see somebody finally putting forth true effort to curb illegal logging in the Amazon.
