The Sacrifices Academics Make for Professional Development

Tomorrow I leave for a week-and-a-half long trip to Brazil, where I will be presenting a paper, hopefully getting some other work done, and definitely spending a little time on the beach. I won't apologize - why would I apologize for going to Rio? - but blogging may be rather light from me for the next several days.
