The Checkers Moment

It's quite possible that Hillary Clinton crying a bit was her Checkers moment. It may have saved her campaign. However, unlike Maureen Dowd and endless commentators on the right, I believe that she was probably quite genuine in her emotions. I'm sure she was tired, run down, and feeling a little defeated. I'd probably be crying too. But since the media is so exciting to practice some serious sexism toward Hillary, they made it into a big deal. But instead of showing her to be weak, it showed her to be human.

I'm not particularly happy that she won last night, but even though she is a political animal, she's not that calculating. And those who are so cynical about Hillary that they don't think she's capable of human emotion under stress are pretty sad people. And that includes MoDo.
