That's One Less Token Symbol for the Republican Party

Florida Republican Senator Mel Martinez, the Republicans' only Latino in the Senate, will not be seeking re-election in 2010. In all seriousness, sad as it is, there's just no room for his belief that Republicans "need to have a legislative agenda that is centrist, that tends to be bipartisan, and stay away from those issues that have been so divisive in the past" within the Republican party of today. Still, it will be interesting to see what happens with the Senate seat opening in 2010 now.
