One Observation From My Parents' House
One thing that I have noticed before but that this trip to my parents reminds me of is that my parents' generation turned on the TV in about 1953 and someone will have to turn it off when they die. I have never, and I mean this literally--NEVER--have spent time at my parents' house, from as old as I can remember until the present, without the TV being on. My parents aren't always actively watching the thing, but it is the background to their lives. I know that others are different, but I have noticed this with many other families of my parents' generation. Remarkable.
