Maine Same-Sex Marriage Vote

Possibly this fall's most momentous election will take place in Maine, where homophobes are placing a ballot measure before voters to overturn the state's same-sex marriage law. This is going to be huge. If the measure fails and the law is upheld, it will be a gigantic loss for those who oppose same-sex marriage and will be another sign that the country is moving toward equality on this issue. If the measure passes and that law is overturned, it'll be a blow on the level of Prop 8 in California. Eventually, I believe these setbacks will be overcome, but it could be a decade or more.
