Film Preservation Blogathon

From today through next Sunday is the Film Preservation Blogathon, hosted by Self-Styled Siren and Ferdy on Films. I'll be writing throughout the week on film preservation, in particularly discussing the value of particular films preserved by the National Film Preservation Foundation, as well as providing some links that you can watch for yourself.

The purpose of the blogathon is to raise money for the National Film Preservation Foundation, which has released 4 wonderful collections of previously lost films ranging from silent movies about social issues to experimental film to early animation to Groucho Marx's home movies. Really remarkable stuff. The NFPF is a historian's dream, putting images to discussions of early 20th century America.

If you donate, you will be entered into a random drawing. Winners will get either Volume III or Volume IV of the NFPF's collections.
