Baseball's forgotten minority

He's right. Peter Gammons has been pushing this issue repeatedly the past few seasons in the press, hoping to get the word out anywhere. But Bud Selig's and Major League Baseball's slow initiatives, while a start, are nowhere near enough. It's great to see players like Sabathia, Howard, Willis, and Hunter trying to increase the interest in baseball among young African-Americans. We should all support (and if we can, work for) improvement in baseball's outreach programs within the U.S.
