A Tough Week for the Movies

Not only is the film world mourning the deaths of Ingmar Bergman and Michaelangelo Antonioni, but some lesser yet worthy figures also passed away last week.

Jeremy Blake, who created those cool trippy art scenes for Punch Drunk Love, killed himself at the tender age of 35. This was a week after his girlfriend did the same. Very sad stuff.

Michel Serrault, star of La Cage aux Folles and numerous other French films, died of cancer at the age of 79.

Not a good week.
