On the heels of the previous post, a sadder baseball post: the guys at Fire Joe Morgan have decided to hang it up. In a world full of internet snark and well-reasoned thinking confronting bad journalism, the guys at FJM were a beacon of reason and snark. In what is probably a testament to the shallowness and emptiness of my life and/or my efforts to not write the dissertation, I often looked forward to their posts, laughing and loving it as they thrashed Bill Plaschke, as they revealed the idiocy of Jon Heyman, as they took on the stupid contrarianism of many of sports journalisms' best-known (and often laziest) personalities. It was just another great way the internet traditions had manifested themselves. Thanks, FJM, for all the great laughs.
