Herzog Does Ferrara?

What the fuck? Werner Herzog is one of my all time favorite filmmakers but, given how bad the majority of his fiction films have been over the past two decades and how much I hate the original movie, I can't imagine that his remake of Abel Ferrara's unbelievably stupid Bad Lieutenant will be anything but a pile of shit. Nicolas Cage? Val Kilmer? Xzibit? Eva Mendes? The only way this could be worse would be if he found a place for Peter O'Toole. Herzog finally sees some commercial success with Rescue Dawn and this is how he follows up? Good work, Werner.
