South Dakota Abortion Ban Fails

While there's no question that the Democrats taking over the House (and maybe the Senate!) is the biggest story of the night, I'm surprised we're not seeing more coverage of the failure of the South Dakota abortion ban. South Dakota might be the most anti-abortion state in the nation; yet, not only does the ban fails, but it loses 55-45. This is an enormous blow to the anti-abortion people who must now realize they will never achieve a total ban on abortion through elections. We should be fully emboldened by this victory. It's really awesome. I hope this leads to more abortion clinics opening, preferrably in Pierre and Rapid City so that women in central and western SD don't have to travel all the way to Sioux Falls or Denver.
