Ted Haggard

Is anyone else as amused as I am that national evangelical leader Ted Haggard has been outed, after his male prostitute came public with his actions?

This is great on many levels. First, it again exposes the hypocrisy of much of the religious right's leadership. Second, and more important, is the possibility that it will further dampen the spirits of fundamentalists, keeping them home on election day. This is a particularly exciting proposition within Haggard's home state of Colorado, where there are several hotly contested House seats that Democrats could take.

I hope that Haggard can now live a life where he is honest with himself and the world about his sexuality. But he has a lot of apologizing to do to the nation's gay community.
