Gillo Pontecorvo, RIP

This happened several days ago now, but I had to mention the passing of Gillo Pontecorvo, mostly known for his film The Battle of Algiers. One of the most brillant films in the history of cinema, I think the best scene is when the three bombs explode one after another in the French Quarter. When the French kids leave their discotheque to see where one bomb has exploded, go back in to keep dancing and then die from the bomb planted in their club, well, that is shockingly powerful cinema.
