Carnaval 2008 in Rio: Photos from the First Night

Last night was the first of two nights of parades of samba-schools in Rio. Six schools paraded last night: Viradouro, Mangueira, Portela, Salgueiro (the latter three of which are some of the oldest schools in Rio), Porto da Pedra, and São Clemente all participated. For those interested in some photos that focus on the schools' displays (and go beyond photos of scantily-clad women), there are photos at the links.
