An Additional DFW Note
I forgot to say one thing in my post from the Dallas-Fort Worth airport. I was in hurry.
There were blown up historical photographs on the walls of the airport. Generally a cool idea. One picture showed a large group of Mexicans, probably from the 1860s or 1870s. I think they were cowboys but it's not entirely clear. What I really noticed though was that all of their eyes had been carved out of the walls. Not surprisingly, none of the Anglos in pictures I saw had this problem. Perhaps it's reaching a bit to indict white Texas for this but it sure as hell is typical of the way Texas whites have treated Mexicans and Mexican-Americans over the years.
